Parallels
Virtual Private Server hosting bridges the gap between shared and dedicated hosting. Through virtualization software, you can partition physical servers into multiple "virtual" servers. This allows you to provide end users with total control over their hosting solution, including root access to their server and reboot capabilities. Customers use a VPS to install and run applications without the high price associated with a dedicated server.
VPS installations can be configured in one of three ways:
1.
True VPS: A hosted service providing improved isolation, security, and management over shared hosting services at a lower price point than a dedicated server. Typical configurations include 50-300+ containers per server packaged with a subset of low-end dedicated server services.
2.
Managed VPS: While most customers are becoming more tech savvy, they are generally uninterested in operating their own server. If your customers require more hand-holding or a customized approach to VPS service, then offering a managed VPS package can be profitable. Customers are frequently more willing to pay a premium for what they perceive to be the inherent value of "You".
3.
Virtual Dedicated Server: A dedicated server delivered inside a single virtual container. This simplifies the process of upgrading clients to better hardware, provides faster restoration from a hardware failure, and allows service providers to clone machines for rapid server preparation.
